What is Asset Management?

Asset Management is something we all do to varying degrees, both in our private lives and in business.

It is simply knowing what we own, how much an asset cost to buy and how much it is costing to own, how much it contributes to our business, what it is now worth, and how best to deal with it to obtain the best value for the business. In many businesses, it involves actually knowing
- where the asset is
- if it is still under warranty
- whether it is insured, and who with
- how much the insurance costs and is the risk worth the cost?
